Aside from the perplexing question whether "to outsource, or not to outsource", another question is being asked around. In the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, the question whether to outsource to India or the Philippines, has started outsourcing companies debating.I would say India and Philippines are the leading BPO countries in the world right now. India is a huge outsourcing company however, the Philippines is the "offshoring destination" according to the National Outsourcing Association (NOA). NOA is United Kingdom's sole outsourcing trading association. Some companies would prefer to outsource voice accounts because of the Filipinos' neutral accent while majority of back-office services are outsourced to India.
Compared to India, Philippines is more westernized when it comes to culture. The Philippine culture is close to those of the American people - of course, that's a given fact because Philippines as colonized by the Americans in the mid 1900's. Even up to this moment, America has a strong influence over the Philippine culture and even on the country's politics.
Most western companies are still debating whether to outsource to countries like Philippines and India. But sooner or later, these companies will soon have to accept that outsourcing can make their business easier and more cost-effective.
If you think about it, not ALL American companies can help sell/market your product or service. Neither can ALL Indian or Philippine outsourcing companies. It's important that you partner with the right BPO company if you want to make the best out of your business. Understand the advantages that outsourcing can do to help you develop your business.
